Please let the football begin

Aren't we all fed up with all this transfer talk? I don't know about fans of other clubs, but if you're an Arsenal fan who sees a blog on Fabregas, Nasri or even Wenger or Gazidis you probably just go - Oh no, not again! Maybe we should just have like a social network for clubs to conduct their business and make it public for the whole world to see. Now that would be fun. Okay, not so much for football journalists, who'll have to actually think of something creative to write about when there is no football on, but it would benefit the footballing society in general.

It should be something like a combination of Facebook, Ebay, YouTube, Twitter and emm... okay let me throw in Google+ as well, just so that it doesn't feel left out. It should be made mandatory for all managers, players, coaches, scouts etc. to join (yes, even Arsene Wenger will need to create a profile even though he prefers to do his transfer business privately in  a dark cave in the French Alps).

Imagine how happy Man City  would be with this kind of idea. I can see this kind of a reaction from them - "We no longer need to scout for players, we don't do so now either, but then everything being public online will make our work easier. We will follow players being scouted for by the top teams and then make sure we bid anything from 50p to £1m more than what they offer to sabotage their deals. Our current scouting team will probably be fired. It's a highly sustainable business model." On the other side Arsenal would probably be devastated by such an innovation. They would hardly use it as they rarely buy players and therefore might constantly forget their transaction password when they actually do want to buy.

Doing all negotiations online will only cust down costs for clubs. Imagine for example Barca's phone bills the last 3 years that they've been after Cesc, constantly calling Wenger and Gazidis, calling media contacts to publish 'Cesc-y' stories, phoning their own players asking them to tap up Cesc. Bloody expensive. With the new technology, they could just "Poke" Arsenal FC and then their players could give it a 'Like' or '+' or the equivalent so that everyone knows what's happening and who's interested in whom. Fans of course would only be able to view, as if they could comment then there would be too much bile for people like Xavi, however deserving it may be. Talking of Xavi, here is an interesting read on his love for Cesc

And if you haven't been following the Cesc-Barca saga, and want just a summary, this is how @ArsenalGent sees it and probably sums it up quite nicely.
"I have sent the chauffeur to buy a new car. I have told him to FIGHT TO THE END for it.
The chauffeur is at the showroom. Despite telling the owner that we would really like the car in question, he is insisting upon a payment!
I have told the chauffeur to tell everyone in the village that the car has Gent DNA.
I intend to get a substantial discount on the car as I used to own the chassis and the transmission eight years ago."

Now if you're a Gooner, go straight to Twitter and follow this guy, because he is a legend according to me. If you're a Chelsea, Barcelona or Tottenham supporter run in the opposite direction as you will soon realize he's a prick, unless you want jokes that you won't find funny filling your time line and want to spend a good portion of every day trying to get back at him and to tell him that he's a prick. But if you're as funny/sarcastic as he is and want to engage in a conversation, let me know as I'd be happy to waste some more of my time on Twitter.

I'll try and find something a little more interesting next time I post. Till then, think about a name for that football transfer social network. Then we'll propose the idea to Blatter.
